In this episode, we look at three things that are true about thought. First, there are fleeting thoughts. Silly things that you know are thoughts. Maybe someone cuts you off on the road and you think about hurting them. The thought is real, but you know its just a thought, and nothing further happens.

Second, there are thoughts that you carry with you and that you intend to complete. You still know they are thoughts.

Third, there are thoughts that you think are real. You believe that your boss is a jerk. You know it is true, but in reality, it is just a thought. We used to believe the earth was flat, but, that was just a thought. It also created a barrier until we realized that this was just a though.

Lets look at these perceptions, ideas, and thoughts and discuss what they may mean for you.

In this episode, I’m going to talk about three aspects of meditation. First, why would we meditate? Is it some religious ritual? Is it some mystical nonsense? Meditation is the most powerful way to create the life that you want to have. That is a strong statement, but true.

Second, meditation provides a long list of documented and researched benefits. Physical well-being, healing, and physical renewal all come from regular meditation. Emotional stability, elimination of stress and increase in well being also come. Spiritually you create power and connection with the larger universe that we all know is there outside us. Meditation is the key to making this happen. Third, you’ll see how meditation can help you in many situations, how it can benefit you, your life and those around you.

This episode is not about any particular form of meditation, but, it will give you an outlook to see what is possible. I’ll also delve into HOW to meditate, and how to use meditation to control or take control of your life.

Years ago, I created an online course called The Power of Meditation with original music, guided meditation sessions and in addition, I’ve written 5 books on the subject. I’m in the process of updating the course and will provide access to those in a later episode when I go into the specifics of meditation.

In this episode, we discuss the meaning of power. Often, we think of power in the traditional way, that is, the power to force someone to obey, or power over someone. Real power isn’t forcing; real power is the ability to get something done. The power we need now comes from within ourselves, not outside of ourselves.

There are three places I get power.

The first is from meditation. Meditation allows me to connect with the spiritual side of life and have faith that there will be a resolution to our current situation. We will get to the other side.

The second comes from choosing to serve others. When we focus outside ourselves, we get power.

Third, place I get power is by planning for the future. The act of planning gives you focus and clarity.

Each of these will be discussed in-depth in today’s episode.

In this episode, we talk about points of change. My wife, Joy was a figure skater and knows the skill it takes to turn certain corners when performing at the speeds reached on the ice. Sometimes, we get going in our opinions or habits so powerfully in one direction that we don’t stop to think where we are going. This new coronavirus has forced us to slow down and do things differently.

It is a blessing in disguise. While the medical professionals work round the clock to create safety, now is the time to take stock of where we are as a people and where we are as individuals. Where do you want to turn a corner? Where can you find something new to create from this once-in-a-lifetime event? We’ll discuss and answer these questions and more.

In this episode, we explore the climate of divisiveness that is so rampant today. Political differences, religious differences, and even age and cultural differences are becoming so deep and profound that we are forgetting that we are far more alike than we are different.

The CoVid19 pandemic that is sweeping the world is a reminder of our common humanity. We are all the same from the point of view of the virus. We must pull together in kindness and cooperation to come out on top. Perhaps when this is in the rear-view mirror, we can bring ourselves to a new level of cooperation and harmony. If that happens, it will truly be a silver lining.

In this episode, we’re going to talk about how procrastination robs us of our power. Sometimes we procrastinate because we are afraid of failing. Sometimes we put things off because we really don’t want to do the work. Perhaps we agreed to something without thinking. Maybe we said yes from a sense of duty and, needing to follow someone else’s agenda.

At its heart, procrastination is an expression of fear. It robs us of who we can truly be. Most of all, it can bring us to where we don’t trust ourselves at all. We know we won’t complete things we have promised, especially the promises we make to ourselves. Then we have let procrastination rob us. So, let us make another choice and not give in to this monster.

Fear is a Liar! Yes, it’s true. In this episode, we’re following up with what I spoke about in yesterday’s episode, “master your monsters,” with fear being a major monster. We’re going to tackle the big elephant in the room. FEAR!. Fear of what? Well, almost anything. Fear of failure, fear of success. Fear of ridicule, and on and on we go. Why is fear so damaging? That is important question, but first, we need to understand clearly that Fear is a LIAR.

99% of the things we fear never really happen, and if they do, it certainly is NOT in the way we thought. Yet as we live in fearful anticipation of something our imagination is limited and our minds are stunted. The blood is re-routed, and we literally can’t think straight. Fear has disabled us and marches once again triumphant as we helplessly achieve far less than our capabilities. No More!!!

This episode is called “master your monsters.” Yes, that’s right… monsters.
Godzilla and King Kon… not so much. I’m talking about the monsters that REALLY keep you from being all you can be. You are divine and have INFINITE potential. Yes, infinite…so, why do we often settle for crumbs compared to what’s possible?

The answer is simple. We let the monsters we have, pound us into submission. What monsters? The Fear monster. The one that says if we try we will fail. Or, worse yet, look silly or be embarrassed in front of others. How about the procrastination monster – you know, “Why do anything today I can put off ‘till tomorrow? Well, why, indeed. Those monsters. It’s time to master those babies. NOW.

In this episode, we revisit our primal instincts. We instinctively protect ourselves and our loved ones. We fight like tigers to protect those we love. Is it time to expand the meaning of love? Is it time for us to grow to a new level and evolve to a higher order, just a little?

In most faiths, loving others is a prime tenant. We see that demonstrated as people take risks to serve the ill and those who are most at risk. We feature them on newscasts and magazine covers. What if we decide now to move to a more permanent place of caring for those around us. What if we could lose ulterior motives and go all in for the blessing of humanity?

In this episode, let’s celebrate what is possible. I timed this for Easter, because resurrection and renewed life is completely appropriate at this moment in our history. We are infinitely creative, we are divine and have abilities we have not yet begun to tap into.

What if we choose right now to come out of this with more love and kindness to each other? Instead of blame and anger, what if we respond to the message of love that Easter represents and that is the foundation of all religious convictions? Let’s commit right here, right now, to let this brush with our mortality remind us of who we are and more importantly, who we can become as a race.
